Barack Obama is the first African American candidate to run for President garnering the official nomination of the ruling Democratic Party where he is a member of. He has strong educational, social, and political background that he can put to good use when elected in office.

Barack Obama graduated from the famous Harvard Law School, an academic institution where one can find only the best and the brightest.  He was elected and performed his functions as President of the Harvard Law Review with due diligence and hard work.

Further, Barack Obama also worked as community organizer and has put into practice his profession as a civil rights lawyer before he was elected into public office in 1997.  He diligently carried out his public office responsibilities that he served in the Illinois Senate for three terms starting from 1997 until 2004.

Although he was quite unfortunate in his campaign for a congressional seat in 2000, Barack Obama’s political milestone came in July 2004 when he was tasked to deliver the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention.  The keynote address was so historic that in November 2004, Barack Obama got elected into the Senate bringing with him 70% of the vote of the populace.

As member of the Senate, Barack Obama promoted larger accountability in the usage of federal funds.  Obama has also helped create and pushed legislation on conventional weapons, electoral fraud, lobbying, nuclear, terrorism, climate change, and care for revisited military personnel.

In February 2007, Barack Obama declared his candidacy for the Presidential Campaign and formally got the nomination of his Party.   His running mate is Joe Biden.  Indeed, Barack Obama is on his way to become the first African American United States President.
