President Obama screwed up on Leno
March 20, 2009
The President appeared on the tonight show last night with Jay Leno and he made a regrettable mistake. Leno asked him about the bowling alley in the While House and Obama said that he bowls a 129 and “It was like the Special Olympics or something.”
His staff quickly acknowledges his mistake and as soon as he boarded his plane he called the chairman of the Special Olympics, Tim Shriver, to say he was sorry — even before the taped program aired late Thursday night.
“He expressed his disappointment and he apologized in a way that was very moving. He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population.
Big Idea from Barack Obama: Computerized Health Records
January 15, 2009
Obama definitely won because of his vision and promise that he would revive the United State’s economy. Recently, he had an idea of modernizing the health care of the country by having electronic health records.
President-elect Barack Obama have this plan: Within five years, the health records must be computerized. Aside from that, Barack Obama also wants to increase the quality of the health care services in America while the cost is affordable at the same time.
Although the idea sounds good, it is almost impossible to execute this easily. There would be tons of hurdles along the way before Obama’s big idea will come true. One of which is the lack of computer systems in hospitals. Out of the 5,000 hospitals in America, only 8 percent of this establishments use computers. Aside from that, only 17 percent of the physicians in the nation keep track of their patient’s record in computers. Experts also believe that the privacy of the patient’s personal details may also be put at risk by using this kind of computerized system. And of course, another fact that may hinder this success of this system is the lack of the skilled workers that are essential in creating and implementing this kind of technology.
According to Dr. David Brailer, the hardest part in building this dream is to put a computer in every desk so that the doctors can enter and access the patient’s record electronically. Moreover, it is also a technical task that not all doctors today can accomplish.
Having a computerized health record can also be expensive as well. Studies from the Commonwealth Fund, Harvard, and RAND showed that the system may require as much as $100 billion before all the hospitals in U.S.A will get to implement this system. At least half of this amount will be paid to train the employees and other labor force that would aid in building the computerized system.
Obama to combine defense with NASA
January 13, 2009
The transition team of President Barack Obama hopes that his vision of the civilian space agency and the military collaboration would lead to shared expenses, to further US mission to space in competition with the Chinese attempt, by 2020.
In fact, the space transition team of Barack Obama is considering stepping up collaboration between NASA and the Defense Department, in hopes of getting the next generation of spacecraft in the sky sooner-and at lower cost-than would be possible with ill-starred Ares rockets of NASA, currently slated to hit the launch pad in 2015.
After a decade of discussion and assembly, NASA and its 14 international partners will develop the size of resident crews at the space station from three to six, significantly increasing the amount of research that can be done on the orbiting outpost. Military satellites must be launched on the DoD’s schedule, not when NASA feels like it.
President Obama may be siding with critics while Griffin would like to adhere to that plan. According to the former astronaut John Glenn, the shuttles should keep flying until the Constellation is ready. The Obama transition team is investigating ideas on merging NASA with the Pentagon.
The verdict on such an amalgamation, if there is one, would probably benefit the current race to the moon as other countries are accelerating with their space programs.
CNN turn down Obama but gave McCain free air time
October 30, 2008
I’m not sure what it means or what’s going on, but something odd is going on at CNN. May be it’s nothing or maybe it’s something. Just thought I should thing about it and hopefully get some input on this subject.
The Obama campaign asked CNN to air its 30-minute campaign ad, scheduled for Wednesday evening, but the network turned them down.
CNN said in a Tuesday statement. “We did not want to pre-empt our programming lineup with a 30-minute campaign commercial. We prefer to use our air to continue to cover the campaign, candidates and issues like we always do from all points of view with the best political team on television.”
Obama in his 30 minute commercial lay down his plan to save the country’s financial disaster by interviewing everyday hard working Americans. Obama never once mention McCain or Palin. Instead he focused on everything that mattered to us.
Larry King gave McCain a FREE on air opportunity to bash Obama’s spending on his spending. He whined about not being able to raised as much money as Obama and he went on and on about Palin. McCain even accused Obama of attending a banquet 5 years ago by a Chicago Professor who spoke about the PLO.
Some are calling this McCain’s best interview so close to the end. CNN gave the man free time to throw the kitchen sink at Obama.
This decision is as bad as giving D.L. Hugley his own show. Also, I heard something interesting for the first time on CNN. Anderson Cooper said that they do not take side in this campaign while reading a story.
Please let me know what you all think, because I’m confused.
Barack Obama’s Record Speaks for Itself
October 29, 2008
If this is an election that can guarantee winning without press releases, campaigns, and advertisements, then certainly, Barack Obama can win the race hands down. His record speaks for itself.
In the economy, Obama initiated the STOP FRAUD Act, a legislation that provided more protection to house buyers or borrowers who come from low-income families way before the subprime crisis loomed. He also introduced legislation on tax credit to corporations that keep or increase their permanent workers in America comparative to those working outside the country. He also created legislations that necessitate decent wages, retirement benefits, health insurance, and additional support for employees in the military.
From his early years, Barack Obama has always advocated good quality education. In his term at the Illinois Senate, he championed the expansion of early childhood education, providing significant assistance to the establishment of the Early learning Council. There are many other educational advocacies such as scholarship grant award increases, creation of teacher residency program, as well as increase of federal support for summer educational opportunities.
He is also a strong advocate of civil rights and justice. He helped over a hundred fifty thousand African Americans to exercise their voting rights. He went to court in his capacity as a civil rights lawyer to help fight against discriminations like employment, housing, and voting. He has created legislations that protect the voting rights of people as well as laws on racial profiling and to reform the death penalty system.
There is several other record of Barack Obama that demonstrates his ability to lead the country to recovery and to bring change that every American who loves the country desires.

The weight of the world on his shoulder
October 24, 2008
How it must feel to have the weight of the world, the hopes and dreams of an entire race of people on your shoulders while being dragged down with punches and stabs through your back by others but you still can’t give up and throw your hands up to your enemies because you have to stand, you just have to.
How hard it must have been for Martin Luther King? How hard it must have been for Rosa Parks to stand up and risk her life in that bus where anything could have taken place.
When you actually put the actions of these heroes in perspective it makes us seem like cowards. Most of us today wouldn’t dare put our life on the line to fight racism. We would easily turn the other cheek and go on with our everyday lives as if we didn’t care.
Well, today there’s a real Maverick upon us. He’s not simply using the word Maverick for his own pleasure but “walking the walk” and “talking the talk”. He’s a real Maverick, a real Hero, someone who’s guiding us in the right direction, someone to look up to and someone who’s not afraid to carry the weight of the world on his shoulder.
He’s knocking down barriers, he’s reaching across racial lines, and most importantly he’s making history…OUR HISTORY!! A history we can be proud and a history we can share with our children and our children’s children. It’s a history that we can no longer be denied. It’s a history that will teach our children that they can DREAM the once impossible dream.
President Obama, THANK YOU for caring the weight of the world on YOUR shoulder!
We have all spoken to elect Obama
October 22, 2008
Well…at least the majority of us have.
The most pressing issue for many of us now, is the issue of DEFENSE. Many of us have sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, fathers and mothers in foreign countries; fighting for freedom.
We have had and still have a problem. The current national security structure was developed in the late 1940’s but has long ago become absolute and no longer applies to the world as it is today.
Our service men and woman are at a distinct disadvantage.
“Our country’s greatest military asset is the men and women who wear the uniform of the United States. When we do send our men and women into harm’s way, we must also clearly define the mission, prescribe concrete political and military objectives, seek out advice of our military commanders, evaluate the intelligence, plan accordingly, and ensure that our troops have the resources, support, and equipment they need to protect themselves and fulfill their mission.”
- Barack Obama, Chicago Foreign Affairs Council, April 23, 2007
How Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s administration plans to change this?
Rebuild and update our armed forces. Not simply recreate but build up our special operations forces. Stabilize skill sets. Develop foreign language training. Create robust training, equip and advise foreign security forces. Allies will be better prepared to face mutual threats.
Expand to meet military needs on the ground. Increasing our end strength, help units retrain and re-equip between deployments.
Lighten the burdens of families by creating a “Military Families Advisory Board” to provide a conduit for military families. Active duty and reserves will know what they can and must expect.
We must preserve unparalleled air power capabilities. Advanced technology from “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles,” electronic warfare capabilities. Replace aging ships and invest in smaller more capable ships. Support missile defense developed pragmatically, cost-effective and not diverted from other security priorities.
Renew our alliances and ensure our allies contribute their fair share to our mutual security. Organize to help our partners and build humanitarian activities on a regional and local level.
“Ending the war in Iraq will be the beginning, but not the end.” There is a lot of work to be done. Fractious elements need to be dealt with and will be dealt with by the new Obama administration.
In spite of the opposition’s slanderous and untrue allegations, the American people will be victorious on Election Day. Let’s pray that they will see the truth of what they have done.
Obama…A President for the people
October 22, 2008
Not since John F. Kennedy has there been a candidate so dedicated to helping the American people. He has broken bipartisan barriers with success, reached out to all representatives in Congress and Senators, all branches of government looking for common ground, in his efforts to bring this country back on track.
A strong advocate of Civil Rights. A fundamental right of all American Citizens.
“The teenagers and college students who left their homes to march in the streets of Birmingham and Montgomery; the mothers who walked instead of taking the bus after a long day of doing somebody else’s laundry and cleaning somebody else’s kitchen – they didn’t brave fire hoses and Billy clubs so that their grandchildren and their great-grandchildren would still wonder at the beginning of the 21st century whether their vote would be counted; whether their civil rights would be protected by their government; whether justice would be equal and opportunity would be theirs. . . . We have more work to do.”
- Barack Obama, Speech at Howard University, September 28, 2007
Our rights as voters are and have been in jeopardy. Efforts continue to suppress and mislead minority voters.
Profiling is still prevalent, unfairly, in the Criminal Justice System. Minorities are twice as likely to be searched, arrested or subdued.
We need to combat discrimination in the business world and end hate crimes.
Just to name some of the Civil Rights fights ahead of Obama as president with Joe Biden as his right hand. They will also pass laws on:
1. “Fair Pay Act” Giving woman equal pay for equal work.
2. “Employment Non-Discrimination Act” to prohibit discrimination based on sexual
rientation or gender identity.
3. Overturn Supreme Court’s ruling curtailing minorities and woman’s right to challenge pay discrimination.
4. Ban racial profiling by federal, state and local law enforcement.
5. End deceptive voting practices…harsh penalties for engaging in voter fraud.
6. Pass the “Matthew Shepard Act” and regenerate enforcement of Department of Justice’s Criminal Section.
The work is ahead of Obama. It will not be easy or quick, but will be accomplished. If there is one Presidential Candidate who can accomplish these goals, it is Obama. His campaign has been and still is on helping the American people, all American people.
The opposing party continues to try to discredit Obama. The truth is apparent. He is the best man for the job of being our President. The President of the people.
Obama is a socialist?
October 22, 2008
These are words uttered from morons that could potentially be running our country one day “Obama is a socialist”. How desperate are these people? How insulting it must be not just to Obama, but to the respected people that supports Obama. You would think they stop and asked themselves what the repercussions could be for calling a future United States of America President a socialist. Do they really know what socialism is?
Socialism is an economic system in which the basic means of production are primarily owned and controlled collectively, usually by government under some system of central planning and also Government will own all capital goods.
All this started because Obama wants to adjust our taxing structure where the rich would pay a little more tax to benefit the lower class. Sounds like a great plan to me.
Joe the idiot plumber first mention it so conveniently after speaking to Obama and Sarah the Imbecile Palin mentioned it at one of her rallies, then John the Fart McCain also casually mention it in an interview.
Does this team of idiots realize that bailing out Wall Street at a tune of 700 Billion dollars may be a form of socialism? Apparently not and it will remain so, unless the tax structure is changed. The wealthy have always benefitted because of the tax structure and loopholes open to them.
Let’s go over some of the issues:
Jobs are being lost, wages are stagnant and prices keep rising. College tuition has grown over 35 percent. Healthcare costs have risen and the list goes on and on. Tax cuts have gone to the wealthy not to those who need it, the middle and low income classes. Meanwhile this administration has refused to work on these problems. Let’s keep going. Healthcare, education and housing, all this under the present governmental party, are in serious trouble.
Obama’s plan, in a small part:
1. To give American families an immediate $1000 emergency rebate to help pay rising bills.
2. Provide $50 billion to jumpstart the economy and prevent 1 million Americans from losing their jobs.
3. Provide tax cuts for working families.
4. Eliminate Income Taxes for seniors making less than $50,000.
5. Reward companies that support American workers.
6. Invest in a Clean Energy Economy and create 5 million new green jobs.
7. Create new job training programs for these jobs.
The list goes on and on. This would turn into a book if I listed everything, but you get the idea. No plan exists on the McCain/Palin campaign. The only campaign from them is to belie Obama in any way they can.
It is time for a change and Obama is the man to do it. All the mudslinging by “anyone” isn’t going to change things. The time of change starts with this Presidential Election. Each and every voter will be heard loud and clear on this Election Day. Those states with early voting have now started shouting. Let’s see the results of the moronic mudslinging and name calling from the McCain, Palin campaign. Their diversions will no longer work.
The American people are finally awakened to what it means to be heard and now they will be.
Hello. I’m calling for John McCain
October 16, 2008
There’s only one thing that would keep our man Obama from winning this election, race. Race has always been an issue in America, but the Republicans are going above and beyond to make sure that a black man doesn’t step foot in the oval office.
With less than 20 days to go until the election, the McCain’s camp launched a massive robocall campaign on Thursday designed to alarm voters about Barack Obama’s past association with former radical Bill Ayers. McCain just last night said that he didn’t care about a washed up terrorist.
It seems that some of these automated calls could violate some laws.
Can you say how low can you go?
