This is probably old news for most, but this story cannot be told enough. Myron Rolle name came again last weekend in a conversation with friends and believe it or not, half of the folks having this conversation did not understand why Rolle not play for the NFL.
I only had one question for those idiots, name me 5 NFL players that made it big and are still big after their career was over. That’s what I thought…silence.
If all of us as parents encouraged our kids to do more than sports and not ride on their coat tails to fame, our entire race would be in a better place
Rolle, if you don’t remember is the young man from Florida State University football team who was to be a first-round pick, for the NFL, decided in favor of Oxford University. He was was awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship back in 2008.
He plans to seek a one-year master’s degree in medical anthropology and then later in 2010 will re-enter the draft pick.
Read this over and over folks:
After his NFL career, Rolle plans to attend medical school and then open a clinic for the needy in the Bahamas.
