Everyone in Gonaives is still desperate for food and clean water. Folks are shoving and stumping on others just to get hands on simple life support items we all take for granted here. Relief that is sent to Haiti is not getting distributed as they should to the needy. There is so much greed as always in the country that people are dying daily.

There are 3 levels of people in Haiti, the rich, the poor and the folks that are so poor, they’re not even considered part of society. The rich have to interest in helping the poor and definitely not the last class of folks. Children from both lower classes are sent to the upper class for a better life supposedly but of course it doesn’t happen this way. These kids are restaveks. Restaveks are denied the basic requirements of life like education because it is thought that they will get too smart and in turn become disobedient. They are abuse and sexually exploited. They are treated worst than slaves were treated.

They usually are not allowed to speak or spent time with other kids in the family. They sleep on cold floors at night while everyone else in the family sleeps on bed. But believe it or not it’s either that or have nothing.

Over 500 people died in Haiti during the last hurricane and things are not looking any better. Gonaives was completely under water and destroyed. Over 10,000 people have walked over 45 miles to the next town.

Not surprisingly financial aid from the US is slowly getting to Haiti among the red tapes and greed of the rulers. There always has been hesitation in helping Haiti because the US has no economic interest in the country. Republicans have much more in their plates to worry about little old Haiti.

Can you imagine Obama as president and ignoring Haiti? No way. Another good reason why we need to make sure we vote for our man Obama. There’s no way in hell he would allow the US to continue to ignore the country.
