Global warming and green cars still very important to President Obama

President Barack Obama have made statement that he wants to fight against global warming as well as the energy woes of United States. This is quite ambitious for some but President Obama made it clear that taking an action is a must. He would like to impose rules that would require the cars to run on clean air while consuming less gas at the same time. The president even said that it is necessary for the country’s security, economy, and for our planet as well.

Aside from that, President Obama also mentioned that he would like to decrease the dependence of United States on foreign oil – something that his predecessors failed to do.Just a couple of days after he was officially inaugurated as the president of the United States, he already allowed California and the other states to pay attention on the greenhouse gases by implementing higher emission standards. Moreover, he also asked for new federal rules which would require the auto manufacturers to start creating cars that are fuel-efficient just like the ones that are required by the law.

This resulted to wary responses from the people in the auto manufacturing industry. They agree that creating green cars is a great idea. However, they were concerned with the costly regulations. Other than that, they think that it may cause conflicts in states as well as federal rules especially now that more and more people are no longer buying cars.  In 2008, the sales of the automobiles in the United States decreased by as much as 18 percent.

By 2011, President Barack Obama would like to have fuel-efficient cars. He said that the goal of the administration is to help the auto industry and to allow the automakers of America for the future.
