Eartha Kitt, who did not like to be identified as just a black entertainer always reminded us that she was a woman and an entertainer for all and not just for black people.

Eartha Kitt could stand up next to and chanllenge anyone half her age. She remained an icon to most and broke barriers many of us would only dreamed of. Eartha Kitt was once called the “most exciting woman in the world” by Orson Welles, she spent much of her life single, though brief romances with the rich and famous peppered her younger years. She has been nominated in the Tony, Grammy and Emmy award categories over the years.
