David Alan Grier hosts Chocolate News on cable

David Alan Grier is trying his hand at a commedy show once again, this time it’s coming from the same network that brought you Dave Chapelle Show and others. I always thought David was funny from back in his days as a flaming individual in the show In living Colors. Grier has tried his hands in several other failed projects and hopefully this time he makes it.
“Chocolate News” is a magazine show hosted by “In Living Color” alum and Tony Award-nominee David Alan Grier that makes no apologies for its biased approach as it investigates inherently urban pop culture topics such as an operation to save black and white conjoined twins, steroid use in Little Leaguers and a rapper’s public service announcement gone awry.
The point-of-view is decidedly from an African American perspective and everyone and everything is fair game for Grier and his regular team of investigators.
The series will be executive produced by Grier (“Little Man”), Robert Morton (“Mind of Mencia”), Fax Bahr and Adam Small (“MADtv”) and Generate’s Peter Aronson and Jordan Levin. Gary Mann is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
Does D.A. Grier still have it? I hope this show doesn’t flop.
But news from the African American point of view is a great idea.

I’m always happy when we get a chance to showcase our brothers and sisters. However, I was not entirly impressed with the first episode of the chocolate news. I won’t give up on it yet though.
