Barack Obama believes that in diversity of opinions, there is unity.  Having grown up with people who had conflicting and varied ideas has helped African American Obama respect partisanship and encourages him to work around this same partisanship to give meaning and purpose to politics. 

Obama strongly believes that regardless of political party and affiliation, America can work together to bring about change that goes beyond partisanship and political agenda.

During his time in the Illinois Senate, Barack Obama was able to work well with both the Democrats (his party mates) and the Republicans to create programs that benefit the working or middle class families.  He was also able to push for the development of the early childhood education recognizing how important for children to have a good quality education in their formative years. 

Upon assumption of his seat at the US Senate, Barack Obama infused new and fresh ideas into politics, revolutionizing how politics should be seen by the people and how it can make a difference in their lives.  Working together with Republican Tom Coburn, Obama’s first legislation was to rebuild the trust of the public in the government by allowing the Americans to see online how and where their taxes go.  Barack Obama also champions the cause for ethics reform.

In his presidential campaigns, Barack Obama continues his advocacies that will bring about the change that America needs.  Above all these, Barack Obama believes that each and every American can make a difference and move the country forward.  They just have to believe they can.
